Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl (DRA 40, 810L, GR: R, Level 5.9) This timeless classic has been one of my student's favorites. Full of comedy, beautiful imagery and sarcasm, they will sit wide eyed and laugh with you! |

Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl (DRA 40, 720L, GR: R, Level 5.4) Back for more adventure, Charlie and his family explore the world of Willy Wonka even further (way further!). Another fun adventure with lots of comedy. |

Bunnicula by Deborah and James Howe (DRA 40, 710L, GR: Q, Level 4.9) The Monroe family is in for a few great surprises when a furry friend comes to live at their house. I usually read this one in October. |

Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli (820L, GR: W, Level 5.4) My favorite book since I was a child, Maniac Magee brings people from all different cultures together as one. |
3rd |
The Watsons Go to Birmingham by Christopher Paul Curtis (DRA 44, 1000L, GR: U, Level 5.5) One family's experience in the Southern United States during the 1960's. Ties right in with actual events. |
3rd |
Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry, Ridley Pearson, and Greg Call (Level not available) More adventures of Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and all of your favorite characters from Neverland. |
